KVIA builds own weather set
The only thing that hasn’t changed about ABC7 weather recently is the quality weather coverage that is delivered to viewers everyday. After a complete re-build, the new ABC7 weather set is larger, more colorful, has more depth and is more professional-looking than ever before.
It is relatively uncommon that a television station has employees with the skills to design and build an entire set in-house, but ABC7 has just that. Art Director Patty Aleman focused on the design concept and created the graphic elements, while Bob Carter and Ozzie Carrillo made her vision a reality. Armed with little more than a few basic tools, their creativity and teamwork transformed a truck full of lumber into a gorgeous weather lab that rivals the work of professional set builders.
