NPG Broadcast Division
John is located in St. Louis, Missouri, where the NPG Broadcast Division is headquartered. With the company for 11 years, he has an appreciation for how NPG does things.
“I’ve worked in both publicly held and family owned broadcasting companies and I especially enjoy the lack of complexity and structure of a family owned operation.” John explains. “If I want a decision, I call the owner, Dave Bradley. It’s that simple. No boards, no politics. NPG is also a company building for the future and that’s incredibly refreshing in a world of ‘what did you do for me this month.’”
He also appreciates those in his division. “I’d put our corporate broadcast team up against any in the industry,” he proudly states.
His background includes a Master’s degree in Journalism, University of Missouri / Columbia School of Journalism, with his undergraduate degree in English from Saint Louis University. Prior to NPG, John was the Executive VP of Pulitzer Broadcasting in St. Louis; the V.P. & General Manager at KSDK-TV (NBC) in St. Louis and the General Manager at KCRA-TV (NBC) in Sacramento, California, where he had also been NSM, GSM and Station Manager.
John has been married to the former Sharon Kuchem for 39 years. They enjoy traveling to see their son in San Diego and their daughter and son-in-law in Barcelona, Spain. The ideal vacation for John and Sharon is relaxing with them in Hawaii, if possible.
John enjoys following the St. Louis pro sports teams, especially the Cardinals, as well as the Billikens of Saint Louis University. He serves on the Board of the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Foundation and is on the Executive Advisory Board of Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business.
