Food event raises funds for local schools
Palm Desert, Calif. – The Desert Sampler was held October 11, 2011 at The Gardens On El Paseo. The Desert Sampler is an event sponsored by Gulf California Broadcast Company, where restaurant served their culinary samples to more than 5,000 ticket holders. Local students sold their tickets prior to the event. Unlike other fundraisers, 100% of the ticket sales went directly to the schools. This valuable community program has helped local schools raise more than $3,000,000. Many thanks to the event organizers, Kristen Kirkjan, with the help of Corina Acosta, Mike Key and the stations’ sales department.
