A recent article in Editor & Publisher magazine about the importance of customer service featured input from St. Joseph News-Press Advertising Director Tim Weddle.
Entitled, “Why Publishers Can’t Afford To Forget Customer Service,” the story highlighted the need for newspapers to include good customer service as a business strategy in all facets of the company. Weddle discussed how getting every employee to understand that each contact they have with someone, even informally, is an opportunity to win or lose a customer. He also provided four tips for spreading a customer focus throughout the newspaper.
